The Easter Bazaar titled "The Light of Christ's Resurrection" was opened at Freedom Square in Nikšić and will run until April 27.
The bazaar was officially opened by the President of the Municipality of Nikšić, Marko Kovačević, who stated that the event embodies not only a humanitarian and traditional character, but also carries deep symbolism of unity and spiritual renewal.
“Perhaps it is symbolic that this year’s event is being held now – in days when much is said about who has won. And on Sunday, we await the only true victory – the one born of love, unity, and kindness. That is precisely the light of Christ's resurrection and the timeless values around which we can all gather. I’m glad that we are continuing in that spirit,” said Kovačević.

He wished the exhibitors a successful bazaar and successful presentation of their products.
Archpriest-stavrophore Boban Jokić, the dean of the Nikšić church district, said that Easter calls for purification, reconciliation, and love, and that “the light of Christ's resurrection is our life’s commitment, our guiding star, and the measure of our way of living.”
“If there is no light and no joy of Christ’s resurrection, then life somehow loses its meaning. This fast we are observing, and the great Passion Week of Christ, speak to us about preparing ourselves, cleansing from evil deeds and thoughts, everything bad that fills our hearts and beings—so that purified and reconciled, most importantly with one another, embracing each other in love, we may enter the embrace of Christ’s Resurrection and carry that light we receive on that day, and throughout the holiday, into the world,” said Jokić.
He emphasized that the bazaar is a place where people gather, reconnect, talk, and enjoy each other’s company—and that this is the true meaning of the holiday.

At the opening of the bazaar—which will feature around 20 local exhibitors—the choir “Zahumlje” and soloist Mihaela Đurović performed.

The Easter Bazaar, which includes a diverse program, is organized by the Municipality of Nikšić, the Church Municipality of Nikšić, the Nikšić Tourist Organization, and the Public Institution “Zahumlje.”
