Airports of Montenegro expect over three million passengers this year - new routes and extended summer season

Planning a trip to Montenegro? 2025 is shaping up to be the perfect time to explore this Adriatic gem, with more than three million passengers expected to pass through the country’s two main airports — Podgorica and Tivat.

As the summer flight season officially runs from March 30 to the end of October, travelers can enjoy increased connectivity and flexibility, with dozens of routes and new destinations now available.

What’s new this summer?

Tivat Airport will operate around 50 active routes, welcoming for the first time Spain’s popular low-cost airline Vueling, which launches its Tivat–Barcelona connection on July 1.

Leading budget carriers like easyJet and Jet2.com are also boosting their flight frequencies, signaling that Montenegro’s tourism season is expanding well beyond the traditional peak months.

Podgorica Airport will serve over 45 routes, including five exciting new connections:

  • Prague (Air Montenegro)
  • Brno (Air Montenegro)
  • Baku (Air Montenegro)
  • Cairo (Petroleum Air Services – charter)
